Sesame Street Zazzle Contest
So, awhile back, October 2024, Sesame Street and Zazzle did a contest asking people to design art using their characters.
They said winners would be selected based on the originality, creativity, visual appeal, and trendiness of their artwork.
There would be two Grand Prize Winners, one for celebrating life’s moments and one for general art. The prize would be $1,000, as well as the opportunity to earn 5% of the net sales of any products that were sold featuring their artwork,
The next winners would be "Judge’s Picks". Winners of this category get the chance to earn 5% of nets sales of the products that are sold featuring their artwork.
There would also be a coloring book category. Three winners would be picked and win a prize which would be a Zazzle product such as a water bottle.
So, I drew up this image of Sesame Street characters saying "Be Kind" in ASL (American Sign Language}.
In the meanwhile, as some of you have heard me vent about in my YouTube videos on my Happy Zazzling channel, things went wrong, my computer crashed, all my programs stopped working, two of my websites got hacked into and I could no longer get into them. And two of my Gmail accounts just disappeared like i never even had them. I couldn't even sign into my Zazzle shop!
It took me quite a awhile to recover everything, including my emails, but once I did, I found two emails from Zazzle saying I had won the Judge's pick on the Sesame Street Contest. I didn't even know, and it had been over a month since winners were announced, and I had to give them permission to display my name and I hadn't. I was soooo sad so I wrote to them and just apologized for not writing back but I had computer issues and couldn't get into emails for a month.
God bless their hearts they wrote back and added me onto the list and submitted my artwork to Sesame st for approval. Once approved I'll get the 5% commission if anyone buys the products with my artwork.
So anyways, just wanted to thank the judges for this contest and for adding me on after it took me so long to write back! It was a lot of fun making this art. It was very nostalgic to me. When I was little, I would tune into Sesame Street because I was so excited to see if Mr. Snuffleupagus would show up! My favorite character. <3
And now, 50 years later, I have watched all my grandkids as they have had their favorite characters.
So, anyways that is the story for today. I just wanted to share this exciting moment with all of you. <3
